Free and Open Source Software

Post by PokeSpeAni on Sun May 12, 2013 1:13 pm

With the just now release of Synfig 0.64.0 http://www.synfig.org/cms/en/news/releases/synfig-studio-0-64-0/
Now avaiable on Windows.
I think it  would be possible to use free and open source software lke this http://lunatics.tv/
There is a list of free and open source software, free culture resources and free culture info here.

For Drawing
Krita 2.7 or newer http://krita.org/ Here is an excellent tutorial series https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FiOvekdqC9Q

For Animation,Rigging and Vectoring
Synfig http://www.synfig.org/cms/ plus character template http://morevnaproject.org/2013/04/15/character-template-tutorial/

Audio Recording
Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

We should also publish the sources on github https://github.com/ kinda like the morevna project http://morevnaproject.org/sources/

The advantage of open source software is that they are free as in freedom so we can do anything we want with them. Not free as in free beer they are free of cost too though.

Despite the fact that you have a great username, this is spam. Sorry. This thread is going to be locked. If you post any more advertisements, we will have to block you.

I think we use audacity already. Never tried Krita but it looks okay. I have tried Synfig and found it to be hard use.
I don't know what you mean by "releasing our source". If you mean giving out our project files then yeah, but they're very large.
