I found a site that has various reference videos which might interest the animators - http://www.digiref.ca/. Also what reference videos do you need exactly? I might be able to help with them.

wow~ useful site~ ^^ thanks for the link. pikachu
i'm not very sure what the animators need for now.. >.> so you'll have to wait for aki. maybe some animal reference like dogs and cats. (if you have a snake, that might help too xD) or maybe ferrets? (idk, they are so cute and i can never have them, i just have to mention).

That's the spirit! Thanks for the reference site, it's probably gonna come in handyC:

well, as for reference, other than animals, you could also have some videos with actions that are drawn in the manga. using the same angle and pose, and or with slight alterations. In any case, thanks for your effort! really appreciate itC:

example: for bug catcher throwing a pokeball, maybe yourself or whoever wearing a similar hat of some sort and holding a net, or at least a stick. then throw the pokeball, or whatever you have available. this will help us in terms of understanding how the limbs and objects move when the characters are drawn frame by frameC:

well, basing off what we have for the storyboard, ill say the reference we need right now would be:

1: girl running into scene
2: bug catcher walking out of screen (well, or towards us.)
3: throwing of pokeball
4: shot of walk featuring only the legs, walking diagonally cross the screen. (no i dont mean for you to walk diagonally, just the position ur camera as such so that it'll appear that ure walking diagonally across the screen>A>)
5: red's hand moving from behind his head to his pointing pose.

it'll be great if the angles are the same or similar to the actual ones in the storyboard, but it's not a must.

so, you want us to take pictures of ourselves doing these things? Or maybe video? I think either would be possible, if i can get my hands on my camera. =_=

BTW, I have a parakeet, snake (ball python), cat (fluffy), fish (goldfish), and dog (beagle mutt). If we need any other animals later on, my grandparents have horses, miniature horses, dogs (German Shepard and retriever), cockatiels, chickens, goats (pygmy and regular), a pig, cats (sleek and fluffy), and my friend has a bearded dragon. Also, I live right near the zoo in DC, so I could try and get video/picture of any more intense animals we might need. pikachu

I'm not sure how any of those will be helpful, but i guess we'll see as we go along. pikachu I also have a baseball cap (XD who doesn't?!) that i can put on to help with references on that...

Just want to help, lulz.

well, it helps identify how the things move and all, it's actually easier to animate with references. Because even when you are doing one thing, your body automatically moves in other parts at the same time. But our eyes usually only capture the main movement. For example, in a walk. I see lots of animations where the walk is animated in a way that the head is stationary throughout, even in animes. (One of the endings in EF had a run with the head locked in the same position throughout and i was going wtf), But many people don't realise that the head actually bobs up and down depending on the walk, as well as move left and right to a slight degree due to the shifting of the weight. (soul eater's ending, the one with maka walking, is a great example. I worship bones (studio), i do;w; )

And even if they do, they dont realise when and where does the head bob up and or down. In this case, reference is necessary. Animation is originally done from referring to real life, is it not? It's just that there are so many animation nowadays, people tend to not refer to real life, but animation instead. But the cons about animation is that we can't reference the same angles, and there are concerns in regard to foreshortening and such when the shots are done differently. Unless the animation is in 3D, with us able to reference it from all angles, of course.

But to be honest, for those who aren't able or are embarrassed to do so, what you could do is to find references online for us. be in from animes, real life, cartoon etc. Just do something to help usXD
