Yeah, some of the older sprites look oddly one dimensional. I think we could perhaps use the sprites as a design basis and then go from there to a)not have to worry about our style and the game's style clashing awkwardly or b)copyright.

So, you're for the idea of drawing the sprites, by using the sprites as a basis?

well, i felt something on they eyes, didn't exactly choke up tho. But its waaay better than what we have for the pokemon anime now. They say people improve with time, how come it's the opposite for the pokemon animeDX

edit again: eh, i think... there's so much confusion going on with the points I'm not sure if i missed out anything(points jumbled in all different areas, repeated opinions and such):

Pokedex: first gen display, updated display, only image

sprites: 1st gen sprites, 1st gen sprites redrawn (pixelated), updated 1st gen sprites, yellow version sprites

sound: Pokedex talks, trainers read aloud, trainers read the pokedex and think it in their heads (a better summary plzDX)

Ironically it was the manga that renewed my interest in the series. The anime has pretty much hit rock bottom and the games are starting to become stale with each new generation (but that's not stopping me from getting HeartGold).

No offense but heart gold isn't too interesting to me. First cause I coudn't get a perfect DS emulator and cause its always the same to me (same old game just with a few added things). But I have high interest on HGSS saga.

I like the trainers reading the pokedex and visualizing indirectly whenever it displays info cause a computer type of voice wouldn't match at all. The voice on the anime make it sound childish and the new female voice is too soft. It woudn't make sense for them to read it aloud for themselves as well. I would prefer however a softer altered version of their own voice. (like they are whispering/reading a note)

But how do the sprites and the generation pokedex on the poll work? Is the pokedex display for eye catches with the dex holder info just like in the manga? and the sprites, don't tell me we'll do a whose that pokemon thing.

For the sprites I think we should use them as a basis and then draw our own instead of literally just taking the sprite and sticking it on the screen. If we did that it would prevent us from getting in trouble with copyright and we wouldn't have to worry about the sprite style and our style clashing awkwardly. (i think i said this before...it was late O.O) That being said, I don't know which option to click =[

Oh man! Good point video-- we were thinking about doing the pokedex as the eye-catchers. >w< But I think we were planning on doing trainers, which would mean we'd just draw a picture of a trainer, so we wouldn't have to worry about the sprites.
