Well, I'm system and I heard a bit about you guys from the Pokecommunity forums. It's nice to see how dedicated people are here.

I'm not sure what I could do here. I'm somewhat decent at drawing, but I have no spiffy programs like Photoshop, so I fear I'm useless.

So, uh, hello.

Hey system. While we are in desperate need for animators, I'm sure we can find a place for someone who can't animate (heck, I can't draw OR animate, and I am in the top ten posters, and found a job, lulz).

I'm RainbowMunchies, aka Rain, and I write VA script. Feel free to ask any questions (like, what does P.U. stand for?) and make sure to read the rules~! (see the worm)

I used to post there intermittently before I just kinda started feeling useless to discussion (in fact I found this place from that thread, back some time ago.). I was a bit of a nutter, had a signature with Charles Darwin fighting a Torchic? Eh? Eh? Eh.
Even if I don't know you, welcome anyway!

I don't know if free programs would be up to the standards of the folks here, unfortunately (frankly visual art may be alien technology as far as I'm concerned. Our animators are fantastic, I know that! Though Aki has been doing most of the work, from what I hear.). But anything you can do to help out will be totally welcome!

Thank you for the warm greetings. I tend to have low standards for my drawings, but I'll see what I can do and perhaps even audition. I don't know whether to go for animator or illustrator, though...

Big forums like that tend to do that to me. x_o

Animators and illustrators tend to cross roles a lot. But the animation team, I think, needs more new people than the illustration team.

The animation team needs people who can animate. If you can animate, go ahead and PLEASE do that. What the illustration team does is take the rough animations from the animation team and line them, color them, shade them, and add backgrounds to them. If there's any still drawings to be done, we do that too.

However, if you can animate, you animation skills are MUCH MUCH MUCH needed. poor aki is doing 90% of the work! D8

even if you can't animate, we'll still need you. we need sketch artists to clean rough sketches.

I've been posting here! I come here a whole lot! At least I think I do. I tend to ramble in posts rather than make a whole bunch of them. x_o

And yes! Please! Audition for something! Your help would be very much appreciated.

I realize I can't animate, since I don't have any programs to support it (if I'm missing something here, tell me). I'm pretty much a traditional artist, my main tools being pencil and paper. I suppose you could say I'm at the bare minimum.

I suppose I could try out for sketch artist. So, not only do I need to show that I could draw humans and pokemon, is backgrounds a much needed requirement, also?

Nope. If you wanted to do backgrounds that's a whole different thing. If you CAN draw backgrounds, we could use them, but you don't have to.

And you don't have to prove that you're perfect at drawing everything. If you can draw people and pokemon, that's great, but you don't have to be perfect. Basically, we just want to see what you can and are willing to do!

One important thing though, if you want to be a sketch artist, is to get a pretty firm grasp of Mato's style, and I think it only takes a little bit of observation and practice. You'll have to post some turn-arounds of Red, Green, and maybe a few pokemon in that style too.

But from the way you talk, I get the impression that you are a very competent artist, and I can't wait to see what you can do.
