Petition for Viz to release the RS arc

Yeah, sorry for never really being here anymore (I doubt if any of you remember me), but this is a good place to stop for this.

Viz currently has no plans to release the RS arc after the GSC arc is over, even going so far as to take the first chapter of volume 15 and place it as the last chapter of volume 14. When questioned about this, they implied that they would release the RS arcs if there was a big enough demand for it. Since new readers obviously don't know that the third gen arcs exist and will probably get confused when the plot holes will inevitable pop up, it's up to us older fans.

So please sign this petition to show Viz that we REALLY want them to release the RS arcs (and hopefully the FRLG and Emerald arcs after this) here in America!

To be honest, I didn't know that Viz had not been planning on translating the RS/FRLG/E manga. They have to! If they don't, then I'll have to spend tons to import the Chaung Yi versions, which actually have quite a few more mistranslations than Viz's do. Please, Viz, translate the Advance Generation's manga!

Please Viz! I don't want to resort to reading pokemon in a translation where chikorita is a GLASS type!!!

I was already buying the GSC arc from viz, and was quite worried about the release status of volume 15, but at least they're willing to give some closure to the arc by bothering to release the final chapter in volume 14! (I was worried that the arc would forever be incomplete)

...but, I can't say I'm too happy with this turn of events either. I had no clue that they didn't want to release the RS arc. They're probably waiting for the remakes, but still...

But you never know! They have no current plans, but they might do it nonetheless! (at least my GSC arc is finished up now!) I'm glad they at least decided to finish the current arc, but the fact they're cutting off the RS arc is unsettling. (after all, the RS arc is one of the best arcs that Pokespe has!)

I really hope that they could release the RS arc, and hopefully, they will!

Yeah, RS is by far my favourite series, so I really wish Viz would translate them. It'd especially be a shame since RS just got those 'wide' releases out (basically bigger editions of the volumes, with some stuff minor stuff cut out). Not having the Advance series also screws up a few references (and a seemingly important plot point) near the end of D/P and early Platinum, so it only makes sense to release the Advance series volumes.

I've been hearing nothing but bad thing about VIZ's translation of the manga.

I wish they whould of correct some of there mistakes. Like change Green and Blue name to the way the japanese have it. But if I buy the manga from VIZ I whould change the names myself.

I seen the pokemon manga developmental in book store. I keep saying to myself this manga isn't for little kids it's for all ages.

Every pokemon fan who read the manga will tell you that the manga is better then the anime. But the VIZ do get it.

Exactly how I feel, I don't like having to walk into the kids section of the book store to get it, though its not as bad as people say, I hardly notice any censoring throughout the manga (so what if that infamous scene with blue in volume 3 got edited, you still know what happened) and they have a lot less poor translations than chaung yi

Yeah. I have all of Viz's volumes, and have only noticed two examples of censorship. The scene with Blue in Saffron, and a scene in the GSC arc, where Crys' mom's slap is changed to a glare. (To be honest, if it weren't for Bulbapedia, I wouldn't have noticed that second one at all...) C'mon Viz, I love the RS/FRLG/E arcs! You have to release them.

Pfft, I was buying the Viz versions so I could finally have hard copies and then they say the aren't going to do R/S my favorite arc. Whatever, I signed I'm number 69.... Lol

Eh, Im not too worried personally. They say that there are no plans now, but considering the GSC started arriving around the time of Heartgold and Soulsilver, all itll really take for Viz to release them is the (most likely inevitable) RSE remakes....FRLG, however, Im more concerned about Its my second favorite arc!

well, its the most notable protagonists, so if sun ruby rain sapphire ever see the light of day, we WILL see the other two arcs

If we keep this up, we'll win and have our chance to see RS/FRLG/E English released.

UPDATE! Either Viz has not updated their amazon page, or...
they are not adding the last chapter to the end of volume 14
If it is the latter, then one of three things could happen
1.) THEY'RE RELEASING THEM AFTER ALL!
2.) They don't give a crap about closure and won't release it ever
3.) They are going to release it as a seperate book for 5 dollars like black and white...

Hm! It seems you may be right! Although it does seem confusing...after all, volume 13 already advertised that volume 14 would have 272 pages already. And when checking the viz kids site (I hate having to visit that site, its kinda degrading), it still states volume 14 has 272 pages. Unless they didn't update their site...I wouldn't get your hopes up too high yet! (but on the other hand...have you seen the calendar on that site? Just shows how frequently updated that site is...)

So if this amazon thing does have an impact, hopefully it means that they chose to release them all! (I'm actually pretty afraid of option 2...I already spent a lot to buy that arc!)

The vizkids thing makes it harder to convince my friends its a more mature form of pokemon media, and the fact that it also makes me more embarrased when I had to buy them from NON comic book shops, those snooty bookworms were rolling their eyes, and they were whispering as I left, now I just buy them online

Just want to point out that, sadly, this has failed...Viz has released Volume 14 with the first chapter of Volume 15, and stated that they have no immediate plans to translate the R/S/E arc...

In which case that also means no FR/LG arc...

Well, we tried our best! Hopefully they'll change their minds and decide to release the rest of the manga soon! (they did say no immediate plans...ya never know! ^^)

So... if they do release R/S/E, then how in the hell do they plan to explain why half the main characters have turned to stone without releasing FR/LG? :S
