PokeSpePaneling
After Sakura-con finished up, I thought to myself "Hey, PokeSpeAnime's a pretty cool project. Why don't we host a panel?" That being said, I was wondering if there are any of you planning on being in the Seattle Area for Sakura-con next year? It would be cool to run a panel to show off our work and maybe get some interest in the series.

That would be so legit. Unfortunately, I don't live anywhere near Seattle, and I'm not sure what is all entailed in getting a panel--like the copyright issue stuff all over again.

Re: PokeSpePaneling
I've already looked over the rules and qualifications. PokeSpeAnime would count as a "Fan Panel". For example, there was a One Piece Panel this year that fans ran to discuss the series as a whole, and a "Tales of" Series Panel the year before that. Not to mention the Abridged Series Panel that runs every year. We do not have to own the property to run the panel, basically, and there are no rules against running panels for fan made projects, provided they revolve around anime/manga/video games/japanese culture/etc.
Panels cost nothing, although there is no guarantee that we will get a panel. We can have up to 5-6 people leading it, and if we request it in advance, equipment needed for the panel is provided. All we need to do is show up with whatever materials only we can provide and present.

Re: PokeSpePaneling
Thanks, but that being said, I'd like to know if A) Everyone would be okay with me running it, B) Anyone else wants to join me in running it, C) Ideas for what we would do at the panel.

Running a panel sounds like a good idea, I say GO FOR IT!! As for what you do at the panel, I think you talk about the basic aspects of the project(how it came about, what we're doing with it, our progress, etc) and then take time to answer questions people may have about it.

Re: PokeSpePaneling
Unortunatley, I live in Georgia, so I would be unable to attend as well. I say go for it. At the very least it could increase attendance...(though I do worry, as Dirks does about copyright issues as we are talking about hosting a panel promoting a fan animation of a licsensed product versus simply a fan QandA...) We want recognition, but we don't want a cease and desist letter, lol. But if you're confident, I'm not opposed.

Wow, Black Glove, you think of everything. A panel sounds very awesome, but I can't seem to come due to class work and money to come to Seattle. I'm in Texas, so I won't reach you, but I do want to help support since I read so much of the PokeSpe I'm too thrilled to know what would happen in Platinum.
Here's my answer, do it! But just one question: when is Sakura-con? You said next year, but what date?

I wish I could go to Sakura-con next year, but knowing my parents I doubt they'd ever let me go there. >.<

March 29th-31st, that's my birthday! If it's going to come next year, then I'm guessing they're either going to do it again in March, or end up in April. Black, you're ganna need to a hell load of research for the panels, or pull something off like turn the panel into a trivia game.

Re: PokeSpePaneling
Actually, Sakura-con takes place in April, usually over Easter Weekend, so I have roughly a year to prepare.
That being said, I'd like to know what you guys would see us doing in a panel. How about those suggestions?

As I stated earlier, you could talk about progress on the project and give time to answer questions people may have. But maybe, this is only if the committee allows, but maybe hold a few live auditions for anyone interested ?

Re: PokeSpePaneling
If you guys want an event closer than the next Sakura-con, I'd Suggest NDK/Nan Desu Kan. It's September 14-16, 2012. I don't know if any of you guys live near Denver, Colorado though. I probably won't be able to attend. (Because, well, you know what I said about my parents and letting me go to Sakura-con)
