I just got to thinking about this and, looking through the forums, I haven't seen anything about it. Who is going to be mixing the audio and the video together?

I think sound mixing, at least, was going to be done by dabeat, but I don't know about the video and sound mixing. I'm not even sure how much experience dabeat has in the sound mixing area so, not to put words in his mouth, it would be great if we had someone who knew how to do both or either. I don't think we have a sound effects person either, so someone who knew how to do that would be awesome too...

if that means putting the animation, voice, sound effect and music together, that will be animation team's job. aki is experienced and she'll teach her team if they dont know how to do or anything. >w>

and for sound effects, we'll need a lot of people to do it. but i'm still not sure about the systemm for this. needs further discussion then.. >.>

Hey, thanks for the great replies. It was something I was pondering, as that is a pretty big part of this project.

we could just record random things falling and say they're sound effects. Cool

XDD Leaf, I don't think so. Either way, I've thought about sound effects and I'm pretty sure the best way to go about it would be to ask people who have certain things available to them to MAKE sound effects, as well as means to record them. if all you have is a microphone in your room and carpet along with whatever furniture you have, the sounds that you can make and record with your carpet (footsteps, muffled sounds?) desk, cloths, whatever. If you have a microphone you can bring outside, footsteps on grass or pavement or if you have marble, footsteps on that. If you have a hose in your backyard, record it gushing out water for watergun or something. You get what I mean, right?

well then, probably wrong place to post this, but to those who have seen the animatic, or those who havent, in any case. we'll need sound effects like a pokeball bouncing off something hard, in which case i envision something like a more plastic-ish sound, but we'll see what we have. Next we need the sound of walking footsteps on grass, no walking on carpets or floorboards kay? Next, chatter. A few kids (3-4 maybe?) saying anything related to what is happening before the bug catcher was about to throw the pokeball. This can be done with a few people (it'll be better i guess), but if anyone's good with sound editing, do a few random dialogues, overlap them together, tweak the pitch etc. I can do video editing with sound and all, but honestly speaking when it comes to sound editing I'm nowhere near useful at allXD since ive never tried that before<W< and i cant do sound effects either since i dont have a proper mike... (people who heard me on skype already know how soft i sound even though people consider me talking too loud irl...)

next sound effect would be (or would people consider that as a small tune, i cant really remember how it sound like...) the sound when a pokeball is thrown, something like a windy sound, but with some sort of a tone, think back when ash ketchum throws a pokeball, sometimes that have that sound. and the next one is probably considered a tune so i wont mention it.

and i think that's all the sound effect we need for the first ep's intro. I better finish up the animation soon, sorry i wasn't on skype today, I was in school setting up my sp2 exhibition and all. I'm happy that my group's animation's in the "best of sp2" list but there was a really well done one that made my jaw drop... a whole lot. maaan I gotta buck up.

yea, so people who owned a proper mike~(unlike me) go find some sound effects nowXD

Maybe we should have an auditioning section in animation for a sound/voise engineer? As well as for people willing to record the sound effects?
Or would it be better in the composing section?

jason, I'm just guessing but, are you by any chance skilled in that area perhaps? since you're the one who started this topic.

I'd also like to volunteer with the putting the sound to the animation and whatnot as well, Aki, if you'd like help.

As for sound effects, perhaps the script team can figure out what sound effects are needed where. I would love to help out with that. It sounds like a ton of fun. ^.^

omg, i swear I keep forgetting about things. It's not that I'm too super busy, just that so much stuff has been on my mind I forget. Next week is spring break, so I will start on the mini-scripts and integrate the sound effects into the script, cross my heart and hope to die!

I just haven't been thinking about it cuz even though Aki is working her butt off, we were only up to so far, and I didn't really... ugh.... I'm sorry. And now I'm ranting about being sorry... sorry. >.>;;;
