The name's Hen.
Hey, y'all. My name's Hen (at least to the internet, anyway), and I found this site through TV Tropes. I live in the South (US, guys), and I'm fairly interested in helping out here. I'd love to voice act, if possible, but if I don't get a part, I'm a'right with just sitting on the sidelines and supporting. I can do a pretty decent South'n accent if you want. (Bill seems to have one, but I'm afraid my voice wouldn't match his appearance.) I also think I'd be able to take on a few artistic jobs, although I don't have any way to animate at the moment. (My Deviantart: http://mastermindhen.deviantart.com/ )
This project seems like a dream come true to me, so I really hope I can help out and be a part of it.

Re: The name's Hen.
Hey, this is Joy, the head of the Illustration team! I really REALLY like you're gallery, although...bobobo and I have never been able to mix (AT ALL IT MAKES ME FOAM AT THE MOUTH*shot*)...anyway, I love how expressive and colorful and awesome your stuff is! I bet you brighten up people's day all the time with that awesomeness.
So long as you've got the right programs, if you do plan on helping with illustration at all, I'll be waiting for your audition! =3

Bobobo appears to be a fairly... acquired taste, from what I've seen. XD
I don't blame you for disliking it, so long as you don't harsh on me about liking it. (Not that it would really come up on a Pokemon forum, but hey.) To each his own.
Your praise is highly appreciated! And I mean it. Stuff like that makes my day.
Unfortunately, the only art program I have is Paint.net. If I were, however, to get something better, what exactly would you suggest?
Re: The name's Hen.
Hmm, well, I'd say Photoshop would be the handiest thing for most people, but it's really very expensive. So, in my opinion, the best and cheapest option would be Easy Paint Tool SAI. If you have a tablet, or even if not, its an amazing art program. It lacks the flashy effect abilities that Photoshop has, but for art, it's far superior. It's also extremely cheap comparatively to other programs used for art. It's a Japanese program, so I'd say it's about $60 American, and trust me that is a SCREAMING deal for the quality of the program itself.
I suggest you try out the 30-day trail, and even after the trial expires you can still use the basic stuff (although you can't save anything. When that happened to me before I bought it, I'd always screencap whatever I drew. XD).
Not only that, but we use SAI almost exclusively for some of the beginning stages in animation and illustration. (It also supports the PSD format, yay!)
Another relatively good program is GIMP, if you've ever heard of it, and it's actually free. It's a lot like photoshop, although it's a bit different in some ways and has a very different interface. I suppose that the most basic things in photoshop are doable in GIMP under a different name or something, I've never really used it. It does support PSD files, which is the main reason I suggest it. XD

Re: The name's Hen.
Easy Paint Tool SAI? Sixty dollars, y'say? Can you animate in it? I'd been considering Adobe Flash for a while now, and as you probably know, it's super expensive-- even with student discounts.
I've used GIMP once before. The controls didn't seem all that different from what I use now, but it'd naturally take some getting used to. It wouldn't hurt to download both, though, I guess.
(Man, am I excited about this stuff.)

Re: The name's Hen.
Sadly, you can't animate in SAI at all. XD I've actually been wanting Adobe Flash myself as well, since trying to pick up on animating in photoshop is next to impossible for me. XD
But while it's true that there isn't any frame or animation feature, SAI has an amazing innovation- vectors! There have been many times where a line was just too complicated or long to make it smooth and straight, and in SAI you can create a 'lineart layer', and it'll make the lines for you! Unlike other vectors like in adobe illustrator, the lines themselves can't be really re-sized and keep the quality-when you zoom in, it gets pixellated. But yet even more unlike other vectors, you can freely change the width of the line throughout, erase a line partially with freedom, and so on. It's way handy!

Hi MastermindHen
I'm Sai
Read the rules.
For programs SAI maybe your best bit here. The alot of people on DA use it and I'm think on getting it myself.
The another progrem you may want to check out it's called Manga studio Debut 4 but it's may not be your best choice for this project. It's still a good program and I do recommend it.
I recommend you keep the hell awail from a program called Anime Studio debut 7. It's made by the same people who make Manga studio.

Re: The name's Hen.
Aw, I'm probably not gonna go for Bill. I was just saying I'm good with the southern accent. XDPlokman wrote:Hey welcome. Hmmm a competitor for Bill huh. XD Cool good luck with it.
I'm thinking Emerald for my big, ambitious shot, but if not that, I could probably pull off a minor role.
Re: The name's Hen.
Try and aim at roles in the first arc, man. I have no idea if we'll even be able to reach emerald. Jesus, it'll be a miracle if we can finish RGB before people become too busy with REAL LIFE and REAL PAYING WORK to be able to work on this. XD Although, I suppose that if we get big enough we could pass on our legacy to the younger generation~ oh what am I saying I sound like an old fart or something...

Just so you know I as a writer have unlimited free time so I'll always be willing to do this even if I got into a pro VA guild.
Re: The name's Hen.
Wow you guys are talking about buying stuff. D: pfffft.
Anyway hello and welcome~ ^^ This is Ezu, and forum rules are very important to me. <3 So make sure you read and follow them. XD
For this project, the software I recommend is GIMP too. If you don't want to buy SAI or use any illegal method. >w> And will look forward to your audition~

Re: The name's Hen.
As much as I'd like to be a character with a bigger role in the first arc, I'm pretty sure I'd be better as a background character there. I realize we might not even get there, but I'm still gonna go for Emerald, if it's all the same with you. XDJoyfulldreams wrote:Try and aim at roles in the first arc, man. I DID download SAI the other day for that thirty day trial period, so I'm gonna take a few days in the near future and see how that works for me. Gimp's next on my list.
Re: The name's Hen.
I'm sorry! I'm really late!
Hi, I'm mrtweetums! Welcome to the forums!
I'm glad you're interested in auditioning already! It's already great to have contributing and dedicated members in our group!
And for Emerald, I think it's completely fine! (the VA team discussed this already, I think) and they said that auditions for future characters are still okay! (I think the reason we want to have RGB chars is 'cause Emerald...is so far! But, if you want to audition for him, there's nothing holdin' you back!) Go for it! ^^
and...please read the rules!
