Recruitment ideas
I was wondering, won't it be better if you guys create a deviantart and youtube account called pokespe anime? This way, anyone who search pokespe on those websites will be aware that there is such a project and some artist would take notice of it as well.

Re: Recruitment ideas
Maybe it's too soon for that, currently we don't have a lot of videos or pictures to show.
Maybe when we have more progress, we could do that. Good suggestion!

Re: Recruitment ideas
I mean there isn't a need to show videos on youtube. Just some slide shows saying that this project exist is enough.
After all, the goal of those account isn't to advertise it to the viewers, but trying to make all the artist more aware that such a thing is indeed occurring.
I mean there are so many challenge account made on deviantart, where the entire account is dedicated to asking people to submit their drawings.
If there is not enough critical mass for this project, this project could easily die. If there is enough critical mass, if some people left the project, some more people would still be around to join in.
I've seen modding ( as in modification for a computer game) projects whereby a bunch of publicist ends up as the team leader and lead animator/modeller for the entire project after all the inital team has left.
I mean I tried searching pokespe anime on google, youtube and deviantart. None of the links is relevant to this project. Someone needs to ensure that searching pokespe anime would result in people finding out about this project.

Re: Recruitment ideas
We're actually on the second page for a search of Pokemon Special Anime.
Nonetheless, we want to focus more on getting some progress done so we can entice more people to join. We will possibly create one before the first episode is done.

Re: Recruitment ideas
Well John and Tweetum has a point... we should just have a video that shows our project... but dont we have one of those already?
Re: Recruitment ideas
One problem with showing our work on youtube or any other site for that matter...We'll attract attention. I know that's the purpose of this discussion, but I'm not so sure its a good idea. Yes we need to recruit people, but we don't need to attract the WRONG kind of attention (i.e. copyrights...) I know that we're not really focused on the copyrights, but I'd rather us get a good chunk done before we're shut down, if you know what I mean... Which I hope doesn't happen in the first place, I'm just saying we should be on our guard.

True but there are a ton of fan videos out there like the kingdom hearts remake into a fan anime or the Naruto halflife online game... we need to be cautious though AND WE REALLY NEED TO GET ORGANIZED!!!
Re: Recruitment ideas
That's why we need an organized everybody meeting. We haven't had one in a while.
We need to get sorted out.
The reason why those haven't been taken down is because it hasn't had a fanbase large enough yet. When it grows, it will happen. Obit because our project is more larger (I think) and more involved, we might be in some more trouble.

Re: Recruitment ideas
I just know that it could easily happen. For example, a group recently did a fan Zelda movie called the Hero of Time. The group showed the film at several film festivals (somehow, without any problems though I'm not sure how) but after they made it readily available (on some paid membership movie website like flisckster or netflix or something) and Nintendo sent them a letter asking them to shut it down within the month they put it up. I'm not meaining to be negative (I really hope it doesn't come to that) I just think that before the unthinkable happens we get something tangible out to the people who worked on it, then worry about the general public. That may be a bit selfish of me, but...

Re: Recruitment ideas
We actually had a very long discussion about copyright in this thread. We eventually came to the conclusion we would just wait and see. We couldn't really just go to them with the idea, but maybe once we had a couple episodes under our belt, we might go them with what we have and hope for the best. However, my dad is a lawyer and he basically said what we're doing could be really dangerous. It's a worrying prospect
On another note, that's what happened to the HoT guys? I tought they just kinda dwindled away. But then again, they made a profit from their movie, our's is completely non-profit.

Re: Recruitment ideas
But that's because they sold it. As long as this project remained a fan project and not anywhere near terms of being sold in any way, online or in person, it should be alright.
Although I'm not keen on it having any form of video or picture advertisement until we got some form of production out.

Re: Recruitment ideas
Well what I thought was weird was that Nintendo seemed to be all cool with it when it went on "tour" It went all over the country for months. But it wasnt until they posted it online that they were asked to stop, though as far as I know no legal action taken.

Re: Recruitment ideas
Yeah, that's what sort of confused me about the whole thing. Maybe because now anyone could get it, whereas before it was only the people in those theaters who could see it and they couldn't necessarily own it...

Re: Recruitment ideas
well, depends on whether the company finds it a threat or not and all. Maybe they probably thought it wasn't good enough to affect their sales or something. Whereas, this project, if done properly, may divert the audience's attention from the pokemon anime to ours. And therefore affecting nintendo adversely. In comparison, we have a higher probability to get shut down if we go on big scale advertising. And now that I think about it, the later the japanese learn about this, the better, at least they won't come poking their noses in with all the copyright issues if they don't know the language.

Re: Recruitment ideas
if they finally see the potential of pokespecial that would be a good turn of events. But for now lets not keep our hopes up nintendo to be so kind as to make another anime for us.
