How should the Pokedex and its sprites be? And how do we communicate the Pokedex message? Multiple answers option has been activated to save time.
Re: Pokédex display
Instead of doing that, Sai, I would rather go for re-drawing and then using filters in photoshop to add a pixelated look. ;3
Re: Pokédex display
Tho sai's way is pretty useful too, i would've never thought of using that methodXD which filter specifically joy?Owo

I'm sure there's a whole section of 'pixelate' filters in photoshop. But I think it's the 'mosaic' filter. You can adjust how pixely you want it to be, too, which is perfect. ;3
Re: Pokédex display
When posting your redrawen pokemon sprites. You should post both the pixelated and not pixelated pokemon sprites so we can compere them.
Re: Pokédex display
I really think the pokedex should be like the ones in the games they are based of, with the exact sprites. Because the pokedex does become more advanced through time. They should just have text instead of a voice reading it. The pokedex holders could read it themselves

Still, in the games, it's not really supposed to be as if the pokedex shows a digitized drawing, it's as if it's an actual photo of the subject.

That's what's gonna happen, only the trainers don't directly read it, only skim through important stuff and paraphrase it. I think the text should still be there, but not prominent (the "text" could even be scribbles so that the "attentive readers" aren't tempted to pause the video).
Re: Pokédex display
To be honest, I always imagined the Pokédex display followed the console it was on. The first generation Dex had a black and white display, the second had limited colors to prevent it using major amounts of data, while later models were advance enough to display '16-bit' colour.
As for if sprites or drawing...I'd go with sprites for the first two generations to give it a blocky, not as advanced feel, while switching to hand-drawn 3rd gen+, to make it look more advanced.
