HG-SS Progress/Update thread

Yeah, I know it's about a week too early, but the anticipation is killing me...

So this thread will be for sharing stories about how you're doing in HG-SS. New Pokemon you caught, what gym you're on, if you ran into a shiny, progress on catching runners, etc.

But since the game isn't out yet (In the US and Europe), there's only one relevant question right now:

Who's your starter going to be?

I'll end up going with Cyndaquil for Gold and Totodile for Silver most likely... although... -.-;;; Great... now I'm not sure anymore... I have something to think about now... I might end up going with Cyndaquil for both for odd reasons... -.-;;; eeeeh... Annnnnnnywaaaaay... How about you guys?

Well I chose cyndaquil in the jap version...so Im going for totodile I think this time.

When I played gold, I was angry about the new starters XD So I chose cyndaquil just because I wanted it to be charmander. Also cause I thought totodile was ugly and I just didn't like chicorita for some reason, lulz. :C

So yea, I will most likely go with my good ol cyndaquil Gwen. <3

But I kinda think this thread is weird. Perhaps it should be moved. Ah, whatever, just my opinion.

But go Soul Silver and Heart Gold! My father traded away my ds, (for what reason, I'll never no T.T), but it sounds awesome. I'm gonna buy soul silver, cause silver's my first evar pokemon game, and it'll be nice to pay tribute to it.

I agree with you Mr.Tweetums, but I don't know where it would be moved to either. IMO it should have just been put into the Social Communications thread to begin with, as it isn't really pertinent to the project in any way >.>

I was debating on telling Mylo about it, but didn't want to be a killjoy, or bug Mylo about something so lil.

But yea, kinda a pointless thread. Next time, I'd post something like this in the social communications thread. The forums are for talking about the project, not pokemon in general. If this were a pokemon forum I think it'd be okay, but we are supposed to be posting things pertaining to the advancement of the Pokespe anime. :C

i think this thread is fine.. we have main general discussion for this reason. >w> as long as it's about pokemon and not TOO social, you can post anything in this forum. and besides, if we are going to talk about everything in the social thread, the general forum will be empty. ^^;

just remember that it needs to be general pokemon related here. but please dont post too much. especially pokemon anime stuff. can be distracting and annoyying. and we have a lot of pokemon forums out there anyway. why talk about it here? >.> this is a project forum so yeah.

I actually already have Heart Gold.
I learned how to read Japanese when I was little so am able to play it.
I think it's a really fun game but...THEY TOOK OUT CONTESTS! D:
That is mainly what I do in Pokemon games now. ;w;

Oh well. Having my Pikachu (Kahana) follow me everywhere is nice though~

Hm! I'm having cyndaquil, since silver was my first pokemon game and I cyndaquil was my first pokemon.

And Bellsprout will be in my team too. For the sake of nostalgia! Probably sudowoodo too

@Chibi: Yeah they did, but I think the Pokelethon is a fun twist. Just my opinion though. I played the jap version, too. (But I cant read japanese so I had no idea what was going on lol but somehow I managed to beat it.) It is deffinately worth all the hype.

How bout red? He regained his status as pokemon trainer with the highest level pokemon (taken from him by Pearl), but I'm sure he's awesome in this game too!

I think what's behind the whole lapras thing is that they wanted him to have pokemon that were available/ a given in r/b/y/fr/lg. That's what was true in gsc b/c evee was given to you in the previous games...however espeon was not. I guess they just decided to go with lapras who you got from silph and didnt have to worry about the whole evolution thing (as you cant get an espeon or ubreon in fr/lg b/c it lacks an internal clock). But I think personally they should have stuck with espeon (as the lapras makes him too similar to the anime counterpart...)

When I played Silver back in the day, I always started with Totdodile. I never thought I would ever start with any other pokémon that wasn't a water type in any of the games because I always chose Squirtle or Totodile every time I played. But then Piplup happened. -_-' [if you couldn't tell, Piplup's one of my least favorite pokémon]. So after I started playing Pearl, I started with Chimchar which was a total change for me. Now I'm kinda partial to the fire types.

So I don't know whether I'm gonna start with Totodile again for SoulSilver or if I'm going to change it up and try Cyndaquil. Definitely not gonna get Chicorita. I never seem to be good at raising grass types. mehhh...

I always did water type too, but then Diamond didn't have any good grass type so i started my game over to get a torterra. I'll probably stick with totadile for soulsilver though

The gen I pokemon only in Red's team is good, but it makes the fight so much easier. A good electric type can sweep through it. AND HIS SNORLAX HAS BLIZZARD! BLIZZARD!
